The Last Message
at Bellwether House

A private gathering ends. An adult guest disappears. In the conversation that follows, everyone seems to know a little more than they’re saying.

The planned first case brings a believable conversation to your table—not costumes, scripts, or a host who already knows the answer.

Suspense, not shock.

Fictional entertainment intended for ages 16+. Themes of disappearance, deception, and interpersonal conflict; no graphic or sexual violence planned.

01

Open the conversation

Start with the briefing, then follow messages and suspect accounts. Everyone investigates; nobody needs to play the host.

02

Build your own timeline

Compare receipts, entry records, and voice-note transcripts. Separate what the evidence proves from what a character merely claims.

03

Make the accusation

Agree on a responsible person, motive, method, and supporting clues before deliberately opening the separate explanation.

One story doesn’t
fit the record.

A separate, fictional warm-up. The booking envelope has gone missing from a rehearsal room. Who is contradicted by the records?

No email. No download. No paid-case spoilers.

Rehearsal chat14 June 2026

Mara · 19:12

I left the envelope on the desk at 19:00. I was the last one out.

Tobin · 19:13

I returned my key at 18:55. Never went back in.

Nell · 19:14

I left at 18:50. Didn’t see an envelope.

Record S-02 / Reception log

Tobin’s key returned: 18:55. A replacement key issued to Tobin: 19:04. Reception confirms Tobin used it to enter the rehearsal room at 19:06. All times use the same clock.

Whose account cannot be true? Does that prove they took the envelope?

Reveal sample answer — contains spoilers

Tobin’s account contradicts S-02: he says he never returned, but reception records him entering at 19:06. Mara may genuinely have been the last to leave at 19:00; Tobin returned afterward. Nell’s claim is not contradicted.

That establishes a false account, not theft. There is no evidence here proving who took the envelope. Good investigators don’t turn suspicion into certainty.
